Intu Merry Hill Spring/ Summer Fashion Weekend

This weekend, the 28th and 29th March, Intu Merry Hill, will be hosting their Spring/ Summer fashion weekender with an array of fashion shows, discounts and competitions.

For me, Merry Hill is the place to go as a new season is approaching as know I will always find some great updates for my wardrobe. It has all the shops you could possibly want, a yummy food hall and free parking.

Last week, I attended a preview media event for this weekend where we saw some of the latest looks in a fashion show hosted by Lola Royle. Topshop and River Island have been my favourite shops for a long time but I was introduced to shops such as Phase 8 and Oasis which I wouldn't normally pay to much attention too.

Key trends for this season include:

Blush Pink
Block Colours
Khaki
Stripes
Denim

I plan on visiting the centre this weekend to pick up some of my favourite pieces seen below!

There will be a voucher booklet available both online and to collect from the customer service desk offering discounts and freebies across 35 stores. Some of my favourites include 15% off at Office, £50 spend in Boux Avenue for a goody bag and 20% off in Dorothy Perkins.

Aswell as the fashion shows, there will be 'Beauty Pods' on the Lower Mall offering makeovers and samples. There are some good beauty vouchers available too!

Finally, you are invited to spin 'The Wheel of Fashion' for a chance to win some brilliant prizes.

Visit www.intu.co.uk/merryhill for more information.

Glossybox UK March 2015

I've had my Glossybox subscription since the 2nd box that they released. I've just looked up when that was sent out which means it was June 2011 that I received my first box so over the years i've had 45 of these parcels!

As the postage has crept up over the years I now pay £13.25 monthly and every now and again I contemplate whether or not to cancel the subscription and just spend £15 on beauty products in Boot's instead. However, I'm super pleased with this month's selection as the products and shades that I have  received are all ones that I will use.

NAOBAY Moisturising Peeling

This is an organic peeling milk from the Spanish eco-brand NAOBAY. I've just used it and i'd say its a gentle moisturising exfoliator.

Dove Advanced Hair Series Youthful Vitality Shampoo & Conditioner

These are perfect to keep hold of for travelling. I'm pleased that there is both a shampoo and conditioner because i'm sure in the past other brands have only sent a sample of one or the other!

Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara

Essence have recently released their products into the UK market so I assume they are trying to increase awareness of the brand. The packaging is pretty and feels to be of good quality so I look forward to giving this a try.

ncLA Nail Varnish

Although I haven't tried this brand before the colour is a perfect shade for me and great for spring/ summer.

Sleek Make Up Pout Paint

I've had a couple of these before from Glossybox but in a super bright red and a hot pink. I've actually only used them for fancy dress so i'm pleased to have a much more wearable colour of a soft pink - Rosette 158.

LUSH: Valentines and Permanent Line Haul

I have a tendency to limit the use of my bath bombs and bubble bars just so that I can keep my Lush pot looking pretty. However, after having a lovely Valentine's Lush delivery arrive, I can now happily use up some of my collection without feeling slightly disheartened at a gaping hole in the pot.

Presentation before practicality aye ....

I have 3 products from the limited edition Valentine's collection and 3 from the permanent line.

(L-R)

Valentine's Collection: Unicorn Horn, Heart Throb, Floating Flower

Permanent Line: Twilight, Think Pink, Phoenix Rising

Bubble Bars

Heart Throb - with organic shea butter
Unicorn Horn - with lavender oil

Bath Bombs

Floating Flower - Jasmine scented
Think Pink - Sweet vanilla for relaxation
Phoenix Rising - Cinnamon scented for a refreshed feeling
Twilight - Lavender scented with a calming notion

The Unicorn Horn and Heart Throb bubble bars are the stand out products for me.

Bring on the Easter collection.

OOTN - Failing to make a lift look classy

Nothing makes me happier than walking into a lift and seeing it has a huge mirror, even better when you are by yourself and can therefore justify taking a selfie. Forgive me.

*wishing that I could insert the laughing crying emoji here*

A few weeks ago, I met up with some friends for cocktails at the Slug and Lettuce, Brindley Place, Birmingham. The night resulted in around 600 failed selfie stick photos when the shutter got stuck. We definitely had some funny looks for the selfie stick but i'm sure people were just jealous.... #proudselfiestickowner

Here's what I wore:

*Most items linked below*

Coat - Amphora, TK Maxx £20

I picked up he boyfriend style lilac coat in the TK Maxx sale. It's my transitional pastel piece for spring. It's from a brand called Amphora although I totally think of Sephora everytime my eyes skim the label. I got it reduced from £79 to £38 but then I ended up paying just £20!

OOTD - Positive Mind, Positive Vibes, Positive Life

'So often we become so focused on the finish line that we forget to enjoy the journey'

I've reached a point where i've realised that i've focused so much on the negative things in my life that i've let them drag me down. I've found myself at a stage where I've erased the negativity and i am focusing on everything positive and with that my motivation for blogging is back so i'm starting with an OOTD.

T-shirt: Topshop £22
Heels: New Look £24.99
Bracelet: Pandora
Bag: H&M

I am converted to Topshop jeans. The Joni ones are my favourite as the fit is perfect. I think I went from owning none to about 6 pairs in 2 months. You don't know what you're missing out on until you try a pair.

I had a bit of an obsession with my hair braid from Tenerife and kept it in for about 3 months even though I'd had my hair cut quite a bit. It's finally out although I do feel like something's missing!

Today i am choosing happiness.

Autumn/ Winter Fashion Event - Intu Merry Hill

A couple of weekends ago, I headed over to Merry Hill for their Autumn/ Winter fashion event. Although Merry Hill (Dudley) is a bit of a further drive from me, it's definitely the place to go if you want to do some serious shopping. I went with the mindset of getting quite a few additions for my autumn wardrobe and that's exactly what I did.

It's always good to pop over to Merry Hill when they are having one of their fashion weekends as there are lots of discounts to be had and entertainment all round with fashion shows and craft areas. It's a nice opportunity to pick up on the new seasons upcoming trends. I collected a voucher booklet from the concierge desk offering varied discounts around the centre. I was kindly gifted a £30 gift card too.

Couldn't resist this bobble head people in H&M!

I felt that this year the fashion pods were more frequently spaced with more goings on throughout the day which was great as you could be in and out of shops and still catch the various fashion shows. I'd say that more brands took part in the fashion display this time and there were some lovely outfits presented from shops that I wouldn't generally go to.

Fashion Shows - River Island, Topshop, Primark

The best thing about Merry Hill is there is something for everyone. There's a huge selection of shops for men, women and children as well as Eat Central with a great selection of restaurants. I'd definitely recommend visiting Merry Hill if you're looking to start your Christmas shopping as the late night opening times are convenient and you won't struggle to find gifts!

Superdry Store

I was really excited to find there is now a Liz Earle counter in Boots. Apparently it had only opened a couple of days before. I'd been wanting to repurchase my Cleanse & Polish for a while so this was convenient!

Boots - Liz Earle, Smashbox, Bumble & Bumble, Tiger (the cutest, most random shop ever)

Here is a look at a few of the clothing items I picked up featuring Topshop, River Island and New Look mainly. Keep an eye out for future outfit posts featuring these!

You can sign up to Intu Merry Hill's newsletter here if you'd like to be informed of future events such as this.

LUSH Christmas 2014 #LUSHCoventry

At the beginning of October I was invited over to the Lush Coventry store to have a preview of the newly released Christmas stock. The Christmas releases are always my favourite and it's the time of year when you're most likely to find me in a Lush store. Autumn/ Winter just symbolises cozy nights in with long baths that aren't complete without a Lush product or two.

I love how usually you can smell a Lush store before you can see it. I hadn't visited Coventry town centre before so I had to work out where I was going but I made perfect time. We got the chance to look around freely and to talk to the staff about the new ranges.

Bubble bars are usually top of my list and this year the Halloween and Christmas range's haven't failed to impress. I'm a sucker for appearances and like nothing more than displaying my Lush goodies. I picked up a Wizard bubble bar to befriend The Christmas Penguin. The Butterbear bath bomb is adorable and the Star Light Star Bright bath melt is too pretty to resist. I think I need to remind you that Lush products are good for your skin too before I get carried away on looks!

The stand out product for me this year is definitely 'Northern Lights'. A cross between a bubble bar and a bath bomb, it does the best of both. We had a demonstration of this in use and the array of colours and bubbles are lovely. I couldn't resist picking one up.

The return of Snow Fairy is enough to excite some but there are more shower gels to the Christmas range with So White, Hot Toddy and Rose Jam. I'll always be a Snow Fairy lover but So White would be my next pick with it's crisp apple scent.

I love how strong the scents are with Lush soaps. Yog Nog is my favourite with a honeycomb scent and a melt in your hands feel as it is made from soya yoghurt. Reindeer Rock and Fairy Ring Soap are also new this year.

As usual, there are some amazing sets this year which would make perfect gifts including a bumper set by the name of White Christmas containing 17 of their most popular products.

Not to forget, FUN - a multipurpose product almost like playdough that you can make shapes with and wash your hair and body. The gold bar is back this year along with a black, white and orange one designed so that you can make your own snowman!

Thank you so much to Lush Coventry for having me. The staff were all lovely and I had a great evening catching up with and meeting new bloggers.

What's your favourite release?
