OOTD - New Look and White Converse

My style has been a lot more casual lately and my white converse are my best friends. I have 3 other pairs of Converse in red, grey and lilac but I've not worn any of them as much as I've worn these. The were definitely a worthwhile purchase!

It's actually really weird looking at this picture of me as I had my hair reverse ombred a while ago so this looks really blonde!

Debenhams at INTU Merry Hill

A few weekends ago, I headed to Debenhams at Intu Merry Hill to speak to the girls from Elemis, Elizabeth Arden, Urban Decay and Juicy Couture.

Firstly, the lovely girls at Elemis gave me a facial and went through some of their products. Elemis to me is definitely a spa brand and leaves you feeling so refreshed.

I was a bit concerned about having to leave Debenhams bare faced after my Elemis facial but no fret needed, I was sent over to Urban Decay to have my make up done. I had a purple themed look created with the electric palette.

I actually ended up purchasing the Optical Blur Brush as I was really impressed with how it packed product onto my skin. I love Urban Decay for their Naked palettes but they have some exciting releases planned.

To complete my make up, I headed over to Elizabeth Arden for a Lipology talk. The ladie's here were so happy to answer our questions so don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it!

The 8 hour cream/ lipbalm is the perfect answer to chapped lips and I haven't stopped using it since. Their lipglosses are gorgeous and come with a handy mirror. I have my eye on a few colours!

Juicy Couture have released 2 new summer fragrances: Couture La La and Malibu. We tasted jelly beans of the nodes and had to guess them which I think was a really good idea. Couture La La is my favourite with fruity nodes of Apple, Mandarin and Pink Sugar Crystals whereas Malibu has Watermelon, Tangerine and Blackcurrant.

Debenhams is the perfect place to get all your favourite products, its amazing how many brands are under one roof! Thanks to Debenhams for inviting me along and thank you to all the girls at the counters, you were all so lovely and helpful!

Glossybox May 2014 - Superdrug Collabaration

There's nothing better than going home for lunch and seeing that the postman has delivered a parcel. This month, Glossybox have teamed up with Superdrug to celebrate 50 years of them being a beauty retailer.

 So, let's see what's inside...

I Love Cosmetics Strawberries & Milkshake Shimmer & Shine Lip Gloss £1.29 FULL SIZE

This isn't something I would've chosen myself but I like strawberry flavouring and it's a cute colour so i'll add it to my collection.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara £6.99 FULL SIZE

I haven't tried this particular Rimmel Mascara. I'm currently using the Scandaleyes Volume Flash so it'll be interesting to see how this one compares. The brush has an hourglass shape that is meant to create a 60's look.

B. Quick One Coat Professional Finish Nail Polish £4.99 FULL SIZE

This is a brand exclusive to Superdrug; I haven't tried anything from them before but it's a nice minty teal colour (Shade 176 Mermaid). I've actually been on a nail varnish ban all year but I've still acquired about 6 thanks to Glossybox!

BlowPro Blow Up Daily Volumizing Conditioner 50ml - £2.13 Value

I love travel sized products that I can keep to take to the gym or travelling. I always choose volumizing products so i'm happy with this.

Superdrug Large Doughnut Ring £3.99 FULL SIZE

I have a couple of doughnut rings already but you can't go wrong with a couple of spare although this is the strangest 'blonde' coloured bun ring i've seen.

BONUS PRODUCTS

Garnier Oil Beauty Lotion
Ghost Fragrance - Eclipse

Since the postage increase, Glossybox stands at a price of £10 plus £3.25 p&p totalling £13.25. The contents of this month's box has a value of £19.39 excluding the bonus samples however, four products are full size.

Although, this box has a cheaper value than most other times, all of these products are things that I will use and are general useful things to have so i'm quite pleased!

What do you think of this month's selection?

Francesco Group Birmingham Academy

Last Thursday, I attended a blogger event at the Francesco Academy, Birmingham. I've always been a local salon girl but the atmosphere of Francesco's might've converted me.

The Embrace collection was on display featuring models of all ages and ethnicities including Jean Woods , age 76 from Fabulous Fashionista's. All of the styles are so sleek but completely wearable. We were told that we could pick a style to have recreated.

The lovely Mia Dellicompagni set my hair in rollers after discussing what i'd like. My hair falls flat pretty easily so i'm always up for some volume and bounce.

Francesco's are Wella Salons and Mia recommended the System professional Balance Scalp Mask so i'm looking forward to testing that out.

Here's the result:

Whilst my rollers were setting, I had my skin tone analysed by Claire Chell. I was under the impression that this would involve analysing my skin complexion whereas, it was actually to look at what colours work best for you and to work out whether you had a cool or a warm skin tone.

Different drapes of various shades were held in front of me and changed quickly to show the difference that a colour can make. I was pleased to hear that my love for pink and silver jewellery were approved. Also, it was interesting to hear that darker hair would suit me as i've recently had my hair done in a reverse ombre style as a trial go darker. I have a cool skin tone as do the likes of Alexa Chung and Nicole Scherzinger. It was really interesting and informative and I can definitely see me using the tips I was given when out shopping.

Francesco Group staff are trained in skin tone and colour analysis so they can give you expert advice on getting your colour spot on!

It was a lovely evening and I got to have a nice catch up with Amy who was rocking her new short hair.

Thank you to ajcPR for inviting me.

I'll definitely be heading back to a Francesco salon soon!

London OOTN - Girl's Night Out

Here's what I wore for a night out recently. I don't go clubbing very often so a new outfit was definitely in order! I grabbed this from River Island on the way to catching the train to London.

I don't try things on in stores very often so buying it to wear the next day was a bit of a risk but it fitted me really well and I love the style.

I was feeling really ill but was determined to have an outfit picture so excuse my face!

Playsuit: River Island £40
Heels: Dune
Clutch: Ted Baker
Necklace: Next
Bracelet: Thomas Sabo

Nails: Elegant Touch Blue

I'd been thinking about getting a pink coat for a while but hadn't found the 'perfect' one. I wasn't a fan of the boyfriend fit but I really like this one.

Jelly Shoes - Yes or No

Jelly shoes were definitely a 90's trend and I can remember loving them as a kid. I'm pretty sure that I had a few pairs, some heeled and some glitter and I absolutely loved being able to wear them out.

Seeing them crop up in magazines and all over fashion sites has got me thinking whether I need a pair for my 21 year old self. My current opinion is that the clear ones where you can see your toes are a no go and I think heeled ones would look a bit ridiculous on me so I'd quite like some flat opaque pastel ones.

Available from newlook.com/asos.com

The majority of places appear to be selling them for £10ish which I think is pretty reasonable.

What's your opinion on the return of the jelly shoe?

London

I've really neglected my blog lately as life has just taken over. I have horrific amounts of coursework to do and little time for anything. I'm definitely missing writing posts though so hopefully i'll be back on track soon!

Last weekend, I went to London with my best friends from school. It was really nice to do some shopping, eat plenty of food and for us to all be together.

Here are a few photos of what we got up too:

St Paul's Cathedral

Breakfast at The Diner, Carnaby Street

Bounce Restaurant

Outfit posts to follow :)
