London OOTN - Girl's Night Out

Here's what I wore for a night out recently. I don't go clubbing very often so a new outfit was definitely in order! I grabbed this from River Island on the way to catching the train to London.

I don't try things on in stores very often so buying it to wear the next day was a bit of a risk but it fitted me really well and I love the style.

I was feeling really ill but was determined to have an outfit picture so excuse my face!

Playsuit: River Island £40
Heels: Dune
Clutch: Ted Baker
Necklace: Next
Bracelet: Thomas Sabo

Nails: Elegant Touch Blue

I'd been thinking about getting a pink coat for a while but hadn't found the 'perfect' one. I wasn't a fan of the boyfriend fit but I really like this one.

Jelly Shoes - Yes or No

Jelly shoes were definitely a 90's trend and I can remember loving them as a kid. I'm pretty sure that I had a few pairs, some heeled and some glitter and I absolutely loved being able to wear them out.

Seeing them crop up in magazines and all over fashion sites has got me thinking whether I need a pair for my 21 year old self. My current opinion is that the clear ones where you can see your toes are a no go and I think heeled ones would look a bit ridiculous on me so I'd quite like some flat opaque pastel ones.

Available from

The majority of places appear to be selling them for £10ish which I think is pretty reasonable.

What's your opinion on the return of the jelly shoe?

I've really neglected my blog lately as life has just taken over. I have horrific amounts of coursework to do and little time for anything. I'm definitely missing writing posts though so hopefully i'll be back on track soon!

Last weekend, I went to London with my best friends from school. It was really nice to do some shopping, eat plenty of food and for us to all be together.

Here are a few photos of what we got up too:

St Paul's Cathedral

Breakfast at The Diner, Carnaby Street

Bounce Restaurant

Outfit posts to follow :)

Beauty Haul - Boots

It can't just be me who walks into Boots for a quick look and then ends up coming out with a basket full of things! You happen to see something you've seen on a blog/YouTube and remember that you want to try it!

Bourjois So Matte Nail Varnish £5.99

I avoided the matte nails trend for a while but rather than buying a few matte shades, I thought this matte top coat would be a better investment as I could use it on top of all my other nail varnishes. I'm really trying not to buy any as my collection has become ridiculous. This is the only one I've got this year though!

Nailene Full Cover Nails Oval £8.49

I wish I had lovely shaped natural nails but that's not the case so false ones are my best friend. I love the stick on Impress nails but by using them, I'm not using up any of my nail varnish. I've had these Nailene ones before in the square finish but I've used up most of the smaller sizes. The square ones were out of stock so I picked up the rounded ones with 200 nails.

Super Facialist by Una Brennan £12.99

I've wanted a clay mask for the longest time specifically the Origins 'Out of Trouble' Mask but I haven't been able to get hold of it. After seeing good reviews, I picked this up for £12.99 which is almost half the price of the Origins one. I've been trying this out for the past couple of weeks and so far I'm impressed. I'm using it about twice a week. Some people have found it drying on their skin but that hasn't been a problem for me at all. I might try the mattifying moisturiser next.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Floral £2.99

I swear by this and haven't had another brand compare at all. I hadn't tried this scent so I chose this one for a change.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in 100 Ivory £8.99

It was around this time last year that I first started using this foundation. For a cheaper drugstore brand this definitely has high coverage and I know it's a safe choice!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 010 £6.99

This foundation actually comes a shade lighter than the Wake Me Up one. This is the first time that I've tried this particular Rimmel foundation and I'm impressed. The coverage is really good however it's not the longest lasting foundation and I'd say it needs topping up after about 6 hours.

What are your current product recommendations?!

Bicester Village Haul

I'm sure most of you have heard of the Bicester Village Designer Outlet. I took a spontaneous trip there last weekend with Emma as I've been wanting to go for ages and hadn't got round to going. It took just under an hour and a half to get there and we stopped for takeaway pizza at the service station.

I thought that I'd get a bit more than I did but i'm pleased with my purchases!

Ted Baker Make Up Bag - RRP £22, Outlet £15

I love the design of this and I was finding hard to decide between the pink or the mint one.

Pandora, Silver Amethyst Ring, RRP £85, Outlet £49

I mainly got this because I wanted something else to come away.... I do really like it though and I don't buy pricier jewellery for myself so this was a treat.

Jack Wills Metallic Star Clutch RRP £50, Sale £24.99

This clutch was actually an online sale purchase but as there is a Jack Wills at Bicester, I thought that I could be forgiven for including it in this post. I need to make a conscious effort to change my bag as I always stick to the same one!

Clothes Show Live Haul

This post should've gone up a fair while ago but still, it's better late than never! I went to the Clothes Show back in December with my friend Emma. Over the years, I've been to the Clothes Show quite a few times but I hadn't been for 2 years so I was excited to go again! We made a day of it by having a MAC makeover in the morning (see my post here) and then a little bit of shopping in town before heading to the NEC.

We went on the last day (which i'd never done before) and were surprised by the bargains to be had. Before going we were unsure as to whether going on the last day would work out to be good or bad but I think we did well!

From what I've heard/read, a lot of people didn't buy much at all and weren't impressed. I was on a mission to treat myself so did end up getting a fair bit although I would've liked to have got some more clothes considering it's called 'The Clothes Show'. There seemed to be less well known brands this year and the beauty section definitely out did the market hall of clothes!

Here's what I got:

I've wanted a personalised Claireabella bag for absolutely ages as I love things with my name on but they cost £45 to be personalised. Claireabella had a Clothes Show offer where I got this pre-designed one for just £10. I think it's really cute so couldn't say no!

I loved the idea of the beauty advent calendars but thought they were a bit pricey. This Ciate one retailed for £42 in Selfridges. I managed to get it for just £10 in the last few hours of the Clothes Show! 24 nail varnishes. I know some people picked it up for £25 at the start of the Clothes Show so this was definitely my best bargain.

I loved the quotes and i'm definitely going to have a beauty calendar next year. Chocolate ones aren't going to cut it anymore!

So pretty....

On a bit of a whim , I decided to get these crazy colours hair dye in lavender and lilac. They were 2 for £5 so, let's see if I ever get round to using them....

This jumper is the only clothing item that I got, it was £12 but as i was thinking about it, the seller offered to throw in one of these headband things, turns out he put both in the bag so I got a good bargain here!

I looked specifically for this stand (Popband) as I knew that I wanted to pick some of these hair bobbles up. They're so pretty especially the jewelled ones. I paid £10 for the above but wish I got more!

Models Own had an offer on of 3 nail varnishes for £10 plus their goody bag. However, as a last day special they changed this to 5 nail varnishes for £10! A lot of the nicer colours had probably gone but this was a good deal.

I used to love the goody bags but I thought more this time about whether I'd actually use the products as I've come home with a lot of tat before.

I also chose the Jelly Pong Pong lucky bag as it was £5. I got the above products which seem to be mixed with So Susan which i'm assuming is a sister brand. I've had the pencil before in a Glossybox in Khaki and I loved it so i'm pleased with the pencils. I also had a concealer palette but it was too broken so I threw it away.

I'm pleased with what I picked up and am looking forward to going next year!

A Topshop OOTD

Currently, my favourite store is Topshop and I treated myself to a bit of retail therapy the other week. My student discount card is definitely coming in handy! I can't believe that I didn't realise that I was eligible for one until recently.

Fur Headband - Clothes Show

This is one of the controversial angora jumpers that Topshop are getting a lot of stick about at the moment. However, I purely bought it because I love the style of the jumper. I adore rabbits but the damage is already done and the jumper is in store so if I don't buy it somebody else will. Apologies.

It's pretty pricey at £46 but I have been wearing it quite a lot and I'm considering picking it up in the pale pink colour, hopefully it will go in the sale soon!

Happy New Year!

Bring on 2014!
